Cute little goodie bag of Reindeer Noses. I was actually inspired to do this after seeing this picture here from Sarah's blog. I put a litte twist to it and make Rudolph with "his nose so bright" with a cute red gem. It was so easy even a kid can do it. Check out the video below. Hope you like it.

10 gifts for HER under $50 (Sephora)

So Christmas is around the corner and I know some of you guys were Naughty this year and decided to wait till the last minute to do your shopping. So guess what...I'm going to help you out! Luckily, the benefits of working at Sephora is hearing about the awesome gifts and deals sometimes before they reach the public. Although I do work at Sephora, I am no way in any form getting sponsored or suggested to make such a post. This is all 100% my own opinions and suggestions as a blogger to another blogger.

1.) The Naked Palettes (1 & 2) by Urban Decay

- Naked Palette 2 - $50

If you were around for the frenzy last year when the Naked 1 Palette came out...then you should know about the craziness over the Naked 2 Palette. I remember when the Naked 1 palettes first initially came out....customers were going crazy over these. We would get a shipment of them by the boxes (shown below) and they would sell out in less than 2 hours!! It was crazy!

I bought 5 of them when they first came out for my makeup kit and for myself and a few as Christmas gifts last year. I had tourists who came from out of the states in hopes to get their hands on a palette that unfortunately wasn't available in their country. I felt like the awful bad person who had to the break the news to them when I told them it was sold out. I had one girl cry on me, one husband who flew all the way to New York just to surprise his wife with it, and 2 customers fighting over the last palette. Utter craziness I tell you! You can purchase it now from the Urban Decay website for $50. So I know your question is, when is Sephora releasing the Naked Palette 2. As far as the staff meeting we had, it's "expected" to be online late December and in store late January. So if you want to get it for Christmas, your best bet is to get it from the Urban Decay website. Now what's the difference between the Naked 1 v.s Naked 2? Well, the Naked 1 had a mixture of matte and shimmer eye shadows. It initially came with a sample size Primer Potion and an Urban Decay 24/7 double ended eyeliner in the colors Zero (black) and Whiskey (brown). Then later down the line, they replaced the double-ended eyeliner with an eye shadow brush instead. Now as far as the Naked 2 palette, it's expected to have more neutral colors and includes the eyeshadow brush plus a sample lip gloss. I do love my Naked palette. I use it every time I do makeup for weddings. I don't even reach for my other palettes as much because the Naked palette generally has everything I need. Now if Urban Decay plans to outdo that, then I'm totally amped.- Naked Palette (Original) - $48

Has an array of neutral and dark colors. If you are the type that only likes to wear natural makeup and don't see a use for the dark shadows....then let me give you a tip that I tell my clients. You can use the dark colors as an eyeliner as oppose to just an eyeshadow. I use the dark brown or black depending on my client's eye color and I lightly dust it along their lash line to emphasize their lashes without it looking like they have eyeliner on. You can apply it dry or you can apply it wet with a damp brush to darken the liner. (Available in store & online)
2.) Stila Lip Glaze - $25

Stila Lip Glazes alone cost $22 each....so just for $3 more you get 8! I repeat, you get 8 lip glazes! Should I explain any more? The color payoff is sheer and if you're afraid of the darker color at the far right...relax....they are all sheer. These bad boys usually sell out before Christmas, so if you find one, hold on to it with a solid grip. This makes a great gift for someone, but if you're on a budget or what I like to call,"broke status"....you can divide it in half and give it to 2 individuals as stocking stuffers. 3.) Leopard Hair Straightener by Amika - $25

When I first saw this mini straightener, I couldn't believe that they were only $25! They are so cute and come with a travel pouch to keep it conveniently stored. I have one that I use for my bangs or to do quick touch ups when I'm on the go. I bring it with me when I go to gym or when traveling since it's very light weight and doesn't take much space at all. Very easy to travel with. (Available in store & online)
4.) Pink Tourmaline Flat Iron - $48

Pink! Pink! Pink! This is for you pink lovers. However, if you despise the color pink, don't fret, it comes in black as well. YAY! The cord swivels so you don't have to worry about it tangling when using the flat iron as a curler instead. Yes, you can curl your hair with a straightener. I actually prefer it to be honest. This is definitely a great deal. Every year Sephora comes out with a Limited Edition Blockbuster and they sell out like hot cakes! I remember when they first came out I have to admit the eye shadows were not at its best. But years down the road, all I have to say is WoW! They have really improved the quality of the shadows making them so highly-pigmented and so much color. They are very hydrating and contain Vitamin E & C so they are perfect to wear during the Winter time when you don't want to sacrifice your beauty for chapped lips. 9.) Bliss - Happy Spa-lidays Scent-sational Set (Limited Edition) - $29

I really like Bliss' products. I have not tried one thing from this brand yet that I have to say that I don't like. My favorite from this brand is their waxing strips for face and body. It's so easy to use, you just rub the strip between your hands like you do when you're trying to warm your hands up and peel the strips apart and place them wherever you may want to wax. I use it for my eye brows. I ended up getting the body strips as well and just cut strips that were feasible for the size that I needed. Okay, I know it was a bit off topic but I had to share that with you. As far as this kit, it comes with a body wash, body cream and loofah. A Gift From Spain

I was surprised to receive a package from one of my dear subscribers and friend Bea who lives all the way in Spain. The funny thing is, she said she had a surprise package filled with things that she made just for me and she wanted to send it in time for Christmas.

I was amazed when I opened the box and found these beautiful aprons that Bea handmade just for me. There's actually a story behind how it all started. I initially discovered Bea's blog by accident and stumbled upon her amazing talent in painting. We chatted back and forth for months and it was nice making a new friend across the globe and learning the differences in cultures based off of each other's blogs. She's always wanted to visit New York and I've always want to travel to Spain.

She knows how much I love baking and she decided to sew me not just one apron, but THREE aprons with her painted artwork on them. How beautiful!! I love all of them. And that ruffle apron is so adorable. I never even owned an apron before and what do you know, I get THREE. I couldn't be more thankful! I love them!

As you can see...they now have a special spot in my kitchen which I now hang next to my pantry!

Bea, you are so talented! You need to be selling your artwork. I can't thank you enough Bea... these totally made my day. Thank you sooooo much!!

Leopard Colorful Nails

I was inspired to do this rainbow leopard print design after seeing a video tutorial by YouTuber Sayanythingbr00ke's (video below). It requires using the Konad stamping kit which I absolutely LOVE! I bought my Konad kit from WowSoCool about a year ago when I first discovered it by YouTube gurus Petrilude and Sayanthingbr00ke and I have not stopped using them ever since.

When I first purchased them online from WowSoCool, I was expecting to receive my package in about 5-7 days. But the company did better than I had expected. It was shipped to me in 2 days flat. Amazing! Not only that....I was so happy with the product and the shipping that I had to personally write an email of gratitude to the company for my happiness with the product and service. However, I had expected that my email was going to be lost in the world of possible spam and never be read. But to my surprise, I received a response the next day from Jessica. She was so nice and polite and very quick to reply my email. If you follow me on YouTube, then you will know that I had hosted a Halloween Contest last year and WowSoCool sponsored some amazing prizes.

Have you ever looked at the ingredients of the cosmetics you purchase and have a hard time pronouncing them let alone have an idea what it is? Well if so, then you might want to keep reading...

There is this website that I found out through one of my beauty friends, Charmaine.
The website is called Skin Deep. (www.cosmeticdatabase.com)

This website is a great tool to take advantage of because as scary as it sounds, companies are allowed to use almost any ingredient they wish, and our government doesn't require companies to test products for safety before they're sold. Environmental Working Group of scientists built Skin Deep to be a one-of-a-kind resource, integrating an in-house collection of personal care product ingredient listings with more than 50 toxicity and regulatory databases.

How it works:

1.) Search for either: Cosmetic Brands, Ingredients, and/or Products (see picture for example)
2.) Once you search the item that you're looking for, you'll be provided a long list of ingredients.
3.) A definition of each ingredient is explained and any possible toxicities it may cause, such as: cancer, allergies, violations, etc.
4.) Each ingredient will be rated as score to show any level of hazardness, for example:

- Items Rated 0-2 = low hazard
- Items Rated 3-6 = moderate hazard
- Items Rated 7-10 = high hazard

I am always conscientious of the type of products that I use on my face after experience of working with my mom in her Beauty Day Spa. My mom has her esthetician license and through her I learned a lot of damages that certain products can do to your face. So I thought that this was a great website for everyone to know about. =)

10 Skincare Tips for the Winter Season

I get compliments all the time for my skin and asked what my skincare routine is. So I thought I would share my personal skincare tips for during the Winter Season.

Do keep in mind, these are my tips that I follow and the products I mention is what works best for me and my skin type. All skin types vary. During the fall and winter season I tend to have normal to dry skin and during the spring and summer season I have normal to oily skin. So products that work for me might not work for everyone.

Also, please feel free to share your skincare tips. I'm always intrigued to hear what others have to say.

Here are my 10 Skincare tips for the Winter Season....

1.) Stay HYDRATED.
This must be the #1 tip during all seasons. You must at all times stay hydrated and drink LOTS of water! Staying hydrated keeps your skin moisturized and keeps your system clean resulting to youthful looking skin. Did you know the main reason for migraines and headaches is dehydration? Your body consists of 60% of water weight and everyday we lose that whenever we sweat and urinate. But how much water is recommended for us to drink? The formula I was taught by a trainer at the gym was to take your weight by pounds, divide that by 2, and the number you come up with is the number of ounces you are required to drink. So for example: If you weigh 140 pounds, divide that number by 2 which is 70...that means you are required to drink 70 ounces of water a day if you weigh 140 pounds. Or you can simply just stick to the normal rule of thumb, which is an average of 8 glasses of water a day.

2.) Exfoliate.
It's very important to keep your face and body exfoliated at all times removing any dead skin which then allows your skin to absorb oxgen. Did you know that the dust accumulated in your house is partially from dead skin? Do keep in mind, when I say exfoliate, keep away from harsh products that are too abrasive for the skin. You want a light exfoliation product, not something that is going to irritate your skin. Personally, I like to use 2 different kinds of products to exfoliate which is very light and soothing to my skin. I keep the Aveeno Daily Scrub by my sink for when I wash my face every morning and I keep the Oil of Olay Regenerist Pore Scrub in the shower for when I wash my face at night when I shower. The Aveeno product that I use is a daily scrub which is very fine and light. But if you are using something else, you are only recommended to exfoliate 2-3 times a week. If you have Acne, exfoliating may cause irritation...so please check with your dermatologist to see what product is best for you.

3.) Moisturize.
After exfoliating, it's important to lock in the moisture with a good moisturizer. If you have dry skin, try using an oil-based moisturizer. If you have oily skin, then use a non-oily based moisturizer. For me, during the winter, I tend to have normal to dry skin so I like to use Oil of Olay's Total Effects 7-in-1 Anti-Aging Daily Moisturizer which also has SPF 15. Then, during the spring and summer when my skin feels normal to oily, I switch over to Oil of Olay's Deep Hydration Cream....I love this stuff because it goes on as cream and dries to a silky powder finish. If there is one thing that I hate about moisturizers...it's when it makes your skin feel like it's drenched in oil.

4.) Sunscreen.
Sunscreen is so important and it's not meant to be worn ONLY for the summer, but for everyday use. It protects your skin premature aging but also from skin cancer. It's important to invest in daily moisturizers that contain SPF (such as the moisturizers I mentioned in #3), but if your moisturizer does not contain SPF, then purchase one that is suitable for your skin.

5.) Don't Lick Your Lips.
If you don't want chapped lips, then stop licking your lips! Certain enzymes present in saliva (normally used for digestion) irritate the lips, and the evaporation of the water in saliva saps moisture from them. Also, did you know that chapped lips is also a sign of dehydration?

6.) Lip Treatment.
If you already have chapped lips, I must recommend the Neosporin Lip Treatment. This product has worked wonders for me and you notice a tremendous difference within 20 minutes of using it. I mean, if Neosporin ointment works miracles for wounds and scars, what more for your chapped lips? I suggest using the products specified for your lips though. It's not something you need daily but only suggested for when you lips are dry and chapped. You can find this at any drug store. I found mine at CVS next to the cough drops.

7.) Exfoliate your lips.
Want to prevent dry chapped lips? Exfoliate them daily. This is an old remedy my mom taught me when I was young which I've been doing for years. After I brush my teeth, I exfoliate my lips with my wet toothbrush. At first, I didn't think it actually worked. But I noticed that it worked once I STOPPED exfoliating my lips and noticed that they started to chap. Not only is this a cheap and easy home remedy to keeping your lips smooth, but the exfoliation process allows the blood to rush to the skin making your lips nice and pinky without the use of lipstick.

8.) Lip Balm.
After exfoliating your lips, soothe your skin with your favorite lip balm. I like using Soft Lips Lip Balm because it really works for me because it's long lasting, it smells great, keeps my lips ultra soft and most importantly, it also has SPF 20 which is definitely a plus.

9.) Scarves.
Not only are scarves a great fashion statement which is definitely a staple to your wardrobe, it keeps your neck warm and it can also help protect your skin. Just wrap the scarf around your face to shield against those sometimes brutal winds. You don't want your beautiful skin to suffer wind burn. Trust me, it's painful. If you're feeling crafty this season, learn to knit or crochet and make your own scarf. There are plenty of tutorials online that teach you how. Or, ask someone or your grandmother to teach you. Last year my best friend Joann and I spent a few hours together knitting scarves together which was so much fun and definitely a bonding moment for us as we just laughed and chatted the entire way through.

10.) Smile more. Smiling is a gift and a health benefit to us all. It stimulates longevity, lifts your face making you appear younger, reduces stress (which causes us to look tired, worn down, develop premature wrinkles), boosts your immune system. Did you know that studies have shown (stated by Professor Christopher Peterson Ph.D of The University of Michigan) that optimistic people who smile more have a stronger immune system and fight illnesses better than those who are pessimistic? Reason being is optimistic people think positively. It also appears that people who are optimistic are more likely to take care of themselves, which may be another reason why they tend to be healthier and smile more.

I am very big about customer service and shipping. You can shop on a website where the products can be cute, but it's the customer service that stands behind the products that matter to me the most! If the customer service is horrible, I will not put my money towards bad service. I will shop elsewhere. So if I say that WowSoCool has EXCELLENT customer service, it's because they really do. It's like that saying: "a beautiful woman with an ugly personality, makes her look ugly."

My friend Mary ordered from them after I brought my Konad products to school to show her a demo. She fell in love with them on first sight and ended up ordering them online right in front of me. I saw her a few days later and she ran after me very excited to me to show me her newly painted toes. HAHA. She said she was also surprised how fast the shipping was.

Here's my newest video. It was a contest entry for YouTuber BeautyNewbie's 1,000 Subscriber Contest. The rules was to re-create a look from a music video, so I did Prima J's video "Rock Star." I love my Coastal Scents Palettes that my boyfriend bought me. Since I've moved to New York, I've been using them almost everyday. I like trying a new color everyday. I try to pair colors together that I've never paired before. Experimenting. Practicing. That's the only way you get better at putting makeup on.

Yes those are my eyes. I used a mixture of pink, purple, green, blue and yellow. 5 colors from Coastal Scents.

Almost everyday, random people complimented the way I did my own hair & makeup. People suggesting me to do makeup as a job. To be honest, I just considered myself as someone who enjoys on myself as well as on other people. I'm not afraid to try new looks, bold colors, and outrageous styles. It's all about art and opening the creative side within you.

My friends and family love it when I'm inspired and look forward to being the guinie pigs when I'm inspired. LOL.

My friend Lisa (left picture) has such beautiful skin. I did her hair and makeup. It just made it so much easier to do her makeup when you're already working with flawless skin. Not to mention, the camera loves her. This picture was taken during our pajama party night. We would make it a point to have a pajama party night together at least once a month and do each other's hair & makeup. What girly girls we are. LOL.

My cousin, Nichole (right picture), I did her makeup for her prom. Both of these ladies are absolutely photogenic. I love them both and miss them.

There are so many more pictures of others that I've done and I'll eventually put them up little by little.

Alma and Arlene

My long time friend and god daughter Alma came to New York to visit again. She also came to visit last month. It was a treat seeing her again 2 months in a row considering that we haven't seen each other in years. We used to hang out together nearly everyday when we were younger and I would sleep over her house and do girly things: hair and makeup and us dance in our pajamas till the wee hours of the night. We would make up dance routines together and had dance performances. Love it! Those were the fun days. Alma, do you remember how I used to always park backwards on the street on your block? haha.

She said she enjoyed doing the girly things with me again. I enjoyed it too.

I did her makeup and used the colors from her shirt that her little sister Angel got her. I used purples, greens, and turquoise blue. I think it came out really cute on her. I love this picture of her to the right with her glasses on. She looks like an anime character.
Ahh man, I forgot to take a picture of her cute nails that I painted. Oh well, next time.

We were craving some Korean food so we hit up a spot in the heart of Korea town (Manhattan) called Shilla Korean Barbecue House. We had never been to this place before and knew nothing of it...but i'm so glad we came here because it was SO GOOD! It was a pretty classy place and the food was so tasty and full of flavors. We ordered whatever meat we liked and it was brought to our table raw but a host lights up the grill in the middle of our table and cooked it for us fresh. It was so yummy! There is plenty of various sauces surrounding the grill to dip your meat in. It was so good. Not only was the food good but the service was excellent. The waitresses were very attentative. I remember I accidentally dropped my chopsticks and before I could reach down to pick it up, a waitress picked it up and put a new pair of chopsticks on my table for me.

When it's time to receive your check, most places might give you some mints or chocolates along with your check. But this place gave you asian yogurt in a bottle. I thought it was original and a tasty dessert. I woke up the morning craving to go to this place again. Haha. I look forward to coming back again.

Here's my newest video. I had been asked by a lot of my friends on how to do a smokey eye look like Kim Kardashian. I told them I'd make a tutorial for them...but then there just happened to be contest on YouTube for a "Smokey Eye" look. What a perfect way to do a tutorial and contest entry in one shot. So my inspiration comes from a picture of the beautiful Kim Kardashian. I love this woman. She has such a beautiful and sweet personality that I admire. I also love how she does her makeup. Rasta Girl Eyes Makeup Tutorial

Here's my newest video. I was inspired by this look that was created by one of my favorite YouTubers "Monroemisfitmakeup." I've been wanting to re-create this look for the longest. But after going to the No Doubt concert, I then REALLY wanted to re-create the look. In the video is a little snippet of the concert.

Lady Gaga Nails

My friend Danilsa loves Lady Gaga!

When she came over to my apartment the other day, I painted her nails Lady Gaga style. If you've ever seen the music video, "Poker Face" (video below) there's a scene where she places a deck of cards face down and flashes her nails that have the symbols of the cards. Hearts. Spades. Clubs. Diamonds.

Lady Gaga's nails are painted with the colors black, white, red with crystal embellishments.

I took the inspiration from the video and incorporated it into my own style. Instead, I used the colors: hot pink, black, white with crystal embelishments. I painted Danilsa's right hand Lady Gaga style. I then painted Danilsa's left hand something completely different. As a matter of fact, with the same colors, I just freestyled with no plan as to what I was doing and I thought it came out pretty good. Hope you like it. =)
